Day 50 (Recall) Old People Time

Cue recently moved out of his parents’ home and invited a few people over for a small dinner get together.

On the way over, the Sister lamented that we were turning into “old people” who had Sunday dinner together and jokingly decided to play very emo, lame music on the ride over to his apartment to fit the mood. When we arrived, earlier than everyone else, we found Cue and our friend, Ken* in the kitchen making our dinner. The Sister marveled over how pathetic it was that she and I cooked like crap and how our entire meal was being put together by men.

We agreed that my Sister and I were failures to our gender’s stereotype.

On the other end of the kitchen counter, Ken made a really nice soup while Cue focused on making stir fry for the evening. It came out pretty delicious.

What followed afterwards was a horrible trend of watching Jersey Shore that likely killed more of my brain cells than the alcohol I simultaneously consumed. After enough of us had our brains fried, we decided to play charades, which wouldn’t have been too bad, but apparently we were all pretty evil people bent on making the other team fail miserably that titles like Ronin, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turles 3 Back in Time, and Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure made it into the mix.
Yeah. Try acting those things out without words.

In the end, it was a pretty “old people” night after all; dinner, short supply of alcohol, followed up by a game that was played for lack of cards and video consoles.

It’d be fun to do a repeat.
