I had a thought last night: I'm glad I have an anus.
See, people take anuses for granted because we all assume that everyone's got one. Unfortunately, there are babies that are born without them and so they have to get stomas, whereby their intestines get re-directed to open up on top of their stomachs and that's pretty much the only way they...defecate I guess? And while I was taking care of one such baby, I chose to be grateful for having a butthole. Because having control of my bowel movements is a heavily under-valued ability that I think far too many people take for granted.
